Primrose Place
Baltimore, Maryland
In 2008, the computer lab at Primrose Place received upgraded computers, software and high-speed Internet access.
The senior citizens of Primrose Place have adopted the computer lab and embraced technology. Mr. Reginald Rowlett, the lab coordinator, has a dedicated group of senior citizens that enjoy computer literacy classes, Facebook and research on-line. Primrose Place is located across the street from St. Agnes Hospital in a stable middle-class community.
This upgrade was made possible by a TDF Foundation Grant, in partnership with One Economy and the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC). The grant upgraded computer labs in four Baltimore City public-housing communities, providing access to approximately 3,000 low-income residents.
The TDF Foundation will continue to support this community through calendar year 2010 by providing high-speed Internet service through Verizon.
