In May 2010, the Brooklyn Music School’s Computer Lab opened with state-of-the-art IMAC computers, software and high-speed Internet access.
The Brooklyn Music School (BMS) was established in 1912 as a non-profit school for the performing arts. The school is located in the Fort Green neighborhood, the cultural district of Brooklyn, reaching individuals throughout the borough of Brooklyn.
BMS has a long history of providing high quality music and dance instruction, regardless of income, age or aspirations. The school presently serves over 2,000 children annually, from an ethnically diverse population. Over 25% of the children receive tuition financial aid assistance.
Through the TDF Foundation Grant the BMS Computer Lab’s students will compose original works of music, improve their computer literacy and senior citizens will embrace technology.
