Breaking into the Network
Finding investors, especially the right investors for your company, is still a very network related prospect. Anyone who is currently active in business already has a good network although they may not recognize it as such. Any company starting the search for venture capital must begin with research and planning before going out and "hitting the street" with a freshly printed business plan.
The business plan and the succinct, to the point, two minute presentation or "elevator speech" must be well thought out and planned before contacting any investors. An entrepreneur rarely gets more than one chance to impress and interest an investor, so do not waste that opportunity by being unprepared and unable to describe why your company is worth a detailed presentation.
